TIPS -These few tips will help you to know if your gun or power pack are running right
- If when tattooing your needle feels as though it is getting caught on the skin and is leaving uneven lines, then you should check that your needle is not out to much. This is a hard thing to judge and changes slightly with the different skin types. If you are tattooing a person’s skin that has been out in the sun a bit their skin is a lot tougher and the needle needs to be out just a touch more than if you were tattooing a younger skin that has not been exposed to the sun as much.
- If when you are tattooing the lines are not coming out clear and may be patchy, there will be a line then a gap, line and gap and your not getting a defined line, first check the position your hand is tattooing in, you need to hold your gun more upright so the needle is directly over the line you are tattooing this will give you crisper lines. If you have your gun as up right as you can and it is still happening then you might want to put the needle out a fraction to get the desired out come.
- The one that is very clear that your power packs or guns are running to fast is when you get a nice line but every now and again you get this dot in the line were the ink has been pushed more than the rest of the line. If it happens every 5 or more cm this means your guns are running to fast to the pace you are tattooing it is pumping more ink than you need, you can either slow your power packs down a little so your guns are not going as fast or you quicken your pass on the lining which is not a good idea if you are just learning.
